Samantha Burgos
Clinical Director| PMHNP-BC, LCSW, RN, MSN
I am a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), and Registered Nurse dedicated to helping individuals heal, grow, and thrive. With extensive experience across crisis services, emergency psychiatric care, outpatient treatment, school-based settings, private practice, community mental health, and urgent psychiatric care, I bring a comprehensive and compassionate approach to mental health treatment.
I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from Eastern Connecticut State University in 2016 and my Master of Social Work with a clinical concentration from Fordham University in 2017. In 2023, I earned my Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from University of Connecticut and later received my Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP/APRN) degree from Union University.
Throughout my career, I have worked with children, adolescents, and adults facing a wide range of emotional and behavioral challenges. My clinical background includes in-home therapy, Emergency Mobile Psychiatric Services (EMPS), school-based therapy, crisis intervention at Connecticut Children’s Medical Center, outpatient and private practice settings, and working as an APRN at The Village Urgent Care Center providing psychiatric and mental health care services.
My background as both a therapist and psychiatric provider allows me to integrate psychotherapy with psychiatric evaluation and medication management to create individualized treatment plans tailored to each person’s unique needs. I provide psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and therapeutic support for individuals experiencing concerns such as anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, mood disorders, stress-related challenges, emotional dysregulation, and other mental health conditions.
My treatment philosophy focuses on treating the whole person—not simply symptoms—while recognizing the connection between emotional, psychological, and overall well-being. My therapeutic style is grounded in compassion, authenticity, and evidence-based care. I utilize approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), trauma-informed care, person-centered therapy, solution-focused therapy, and strengths-based interventions while creating treatment plans that honor each client’s goals, experiences, and values.
As a culturally responsive BIPOC Latina clinician, I am deeply committed to creating an inclusive, affirming, and safe environment where individuals of all backgrounds feel heard, understood, valued, and empowered throughout their healing journey.
I believe healing is possible, growth is achievable, and everyone deserves support in becoming the healthiest and most authentic version of themselves.
